This stage of the project investigates the image of the labyrinth in mythology and, more particularly, the myth of the Minotaur. The work is the result of a dense dialogue between Maria Rebecca Ballestra and Mauro Panichella: the exchange purposely occurred in the written form and some excerpts are embroidered on the white fabrics of the work and mingle with the words by Julien Friedler. Two neon lights of different colours complete the installation, positioned one next to the other in order to reproduce the shape of a double axe. This image hold a particular meaning, because the whole work hinges on a reflexion on the double concept of the labyrinth: the choice, dilemma, the double axe, the two horns, the sun and the moon, and so on.
Sharing the same title, Labrys is certainly one of the most complex works of the whole project.
